Andrew Wakefield, the former British
surgeon who was responsible for a global scare
over MMR, subsequently moved to the US and began
a campaign, which launched a new business venture
called Thoughtful House. Public speaking has been
a key tool, such as an address to a
(poorly-attended) meeting at Carnegie Mellon
university in November 2005, arranged by his
supporters, at which he unveiled an apparent new
instrument: the language of credulous cults
