Before Brian Deer's documentary, MMR: What they didn't tell you, Andrew Wakefield issued a statement which misled some of his supporters into thinking that he had not made the claims set out in patent applications for a competitor to MMR and products for bowel disease and autism. Here's an extract from one of the documents, where Wakefield reveals not only that he has little grasp of autism, but makes the astounding claim that he may have discovered a complete cure for it.
