In an effort to
talk with Wakefield, Deer attended a
meeting of the Austism Society of America in
Indianapolis in October 2004, and found it to be
partly funded by quacks, who rented stalls at the
entrance. One was promoting "transfer
factor", based on the evidence
below. When Deer asked about the claims in the
brochure, and whether the "paper"
beneath it was a proper basis for selling
products to parents,
he was ejected by security
